📋 Veterinary Administration & Cleaning Guidelines

Routine cleaning helps prevent standard yeast and bacterial overgrowth. For optimal ear hygiene, follow these precise application steps.

How to Clean Your Pet's Ears Perfectly:

  1. Application: Fill the ear canal carefully by inserting the soft, flexible applicator tip into the opening of the ear and squeezing a generous amount of Otifree solution inside.
  2. Massage: Gently massage the base of the ear canal from the outside (you should hear a squelching sound) for 10 to 15 seconds to help the liquid break up heavy wax deep inside.
  3. The Shake: Allow your dog or cat to shake their head naturally. This movement dislodges the dissolved wax and forces it up toward the outer ear flap.
  4. Wipe Clean: Use a clean cotton pad or paper towel to wipe away the loose debris and excess solution from the outer ear opening.
  5. CRITICAL Safety Rule: NEVER use cotton buds (Q-tips) deep inside the ear canal. Using cotton buds can push old wax deeper against the eardrum, causing compaction, pain, or accidental rupture.

⚠️ Important Veterinary Health & Safety Information

  • Visual Description & Symptoms: The product consists of a clear liquid solution stored inside a plastic bottle equipped with a specialized soft, elongated applicator nozzle. It is typically utilized as a preventative grooming tool, or when pets exhibit initial signs of wax accumulation, such as frequent head shaking, minor ear scratching, or a mild waxy odor coming from the ear flap.
  • Three Potential Mismanagement Risks: To ensure safe cleaning and prevent ear trauma, avoid application mistakes which include:
    1. Using the product with a ruptured eardrum: Do not use Otifree if you suspect your pet's eardrum is torn or damaged. If your pet shows extreme head tilts or loss of balance, seek immediate veterinary clinical care before applying any liquid.
    2. Inserting rigid objects into the ear canal, which risks puncturing the delicate tympanic membrane.
    3. Failing to clean the flexible nozzle tip after treatment, which can introduce secondary bacteria back into the bottle.
  • Storage Warning: For external topical veterinary use only. Avoid contact with the pet’s eyes. Store the bottle tightly capped at controlled room temperature, away from direct sunlight, and completely out of reach of children and domestic pets.
