COMPOSITION 100 g ROMETRONIDAZOLE contains:
Active substances: Metronidazole 40 g; Hydroxyphenylarsonic acid 0.5 g;
Excipient (soy, lactose) ad 100 g.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Metronidazole belongs to the group of chemotherapeutics with marked acidic properties against protozoa (Trichomonas spp., Histomonas spp.), As well as anaerobic germs;
The action against flagellated protozoa is potentiated by hydroxyphenylarsonic acid.
TARGET SPECIES: Dogs, cats, pigeons and ornamental pigeons.

It is very active against clostridial infections.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Caution in severe liver disease, allergy to metronidazole, renal failure.
Rometronidazole is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
ADVERSE REACTIONS: High doses and prolonged treatment may cause vomiting, diarrhea, rash, drowsiness or agitation, in which case treatment should be discontinued.
ADMINISTRATION METHOD
The product is incorporated into food and is administered as follows:
in dogs and cats: 1g / 10 kg body weight / day for 4-5 days. For preventive treatment the dose is reduced by half and administered for 5-7 days;
in pigeons: - preventive: 0.06–0.12 g Rometronidazole / kg body weight (25-50 mg s.a./kg body weight), for 3-5 days; - curative: the same dose is administered for 5-7 days.
Cautions
Rometronidazole treatment is done by incorporation into the food, previously slightly moistened.
Rometronidazole treatment is under medical supervision.
